History:
Tristan Fayette Kasumo was born in the city of Ecruteak. She was the daughter of Alexis Keandra Fay and Kurtis Tensu Kasumo. Kurtis was of a poor background when he met her mother Alexis. Alexis was the shipping moguls only child, thus grew up in a protective environment. Not to long after her 17th birthday, her father found out that she was 6 months along with Tristan, and so he disowned her. Having no choice in the matter she left her life of privilege and wealth, and went to stay with Kurtis.
Months later, on the birth of their daughter, Kurtis was imprisoned for his conducts within a now obsolete crime organization. Hearing of this Alexis's father came to her and made a proposition, If she left her daughter he would allow her to come back into his, and his companies arms and would act as if the last year or so never happened. Alexis took the offer without a backward glance, having come to terms with her dislike of the child she carried, she left her alone inside their one bedroom apartment and never thought of her daughter till many years later.
Tristan stayed in that room for many days till finally, the superintendent had grown tired of hearing a crying child, came in there and saw that Tristan was left alone, and was apparently very sick. After a few intensive days in hospital Tristan was sent to live at an all girls orphanage and Alexis's father covered up the fact it was his grandchild through many bribes to the local police.
Days turned into weeks, weeks into years, and still not one person wished to take in the willful child. She grew up with children who were much bigger than her and thus took advantage of her small form. She was bullied for many years until she met Kassi. The two girls were inseparable, until the day she ran away. Instead of feeling sad at her friends departure she felt a sense of betrayal that carried over to her later years.
Finally at the age of 12 years old, Tristan learned of her Mother. Having thought that she was dead for the longest time, Tristan felt as though she lost a part of her. Something inside her snapped causing her to become slightly unbalanced, but with a wicked sense of purpose. Using her abilities to win over those around her, she worked her way into the Head's (the owner of the orphanage's) good graces, and when no one was looking she looked through her adoption file. Finding the address of her Grandfather's home, Tristan figured it was a good time to visit.
When he found out what she knew, Gradinski le Fay thought to do away with the black mark on his daughters name. Figuring his intentions Tristan was encased in anger. As he plotted against her life, 12 year old Tristan decided it was time to bring down the Family name. Using what few connections she created on the streets, and her ability to look older than she actually was, Tristan formed a small rag tagged band of orphans, and used the knowledge that she obtained at the orphanage, and chipped away slowly at Le Fay Fishing inc.
Thwarting Gradinski's attempt at her for a few years, finally at the age of 15 years old, Tristan forged documents on tax evasion and siphoning of the companies funds into a few discreet offshore banks, she brought down the company and forced it into bankruptcy. Her mother was left destitute, something she took great pleasure in. Figuring she liked the line of work, she dropped the connections she made after paying the sum they requested, and sent the rest of her grandfather's money into orphanages that took kids off the street, and looked around for a few odd jobs she could do herself, refusing to use a single coin of Gradinski's on principle alone.
For a few years she worked for one company, she worked at first as a simple spy, which sounds better than it actually was. She only went to the competitors, and spied on their newest grand schemes, she only gained access cause few took children seriously.
Throughout all of this, after the downfall of her now infamous Grandfather she struck up a relationship with another Orphan, she called herself Rook, and eventually all thoughts of Kassi's betrayal left her mind.
Finally after being promoted she noticed that Rook had more potential than from what she first believed. Convincing the higher ups to hire her, straight to the position she know held, took awhile but when she put her mind to something she normally accomplishes it. Working with Rook stabilized her mentality a bit, though not for the most part. They became fast friends and created a bond together that she never experienced with another being before.
at the tender age of 17 years old, Tristan came across an abused Jotleon. The trainer was misuing the creature to an extent that made even a twisted mind like Tristan feel ill. She followed him to the place of his encampment, and when he slept she stole the pokemon from under him. No great battle issued or anything of that sort. The man who was Jolteon's former was later found a few days later badly beaten and that was the last that was reported on him through the news in Goldenrod city. When her 18th birthday came around she was inside a tavern at Halfway Harbor and was in sore need of cash. She came upon a bunch of burly sailors who were gambling and figured fortune was in her favor that night, but still didn't wish to take to big of a chance, and used a few slight of hands to win a sizable amount of cash plus a Dratini.
Her contact with her employers, were minimum, but that was something she was thankful for. She rarely got along well with others and preferred that she was either by herself or with Rook. Her jobs varied and sometimes she would venture into legal work, just to keep suspicion off from her with her illegal dealings. She built a vast network of contacts, but kept her dealings with them to a business like stance. Finally at the age of 19 years old Tristan was setting off face new and strange wonders always looking for that one thing that will finally make her feel truly whole.
Roleplay Example:
The autumn air sang through the branches as finally the last bit of sunlight slipped slowly away as the amber tints followed in its wake. The sounds of a crackling fire filled the soft air with a smokey hue as Tristan sat nearby a tent propped up against a leafless tree. The aroma of smoked fish wafted over to where her and one other rested. The sounds that accompanied the night seem to crescendo with each whisper from the trees, causing Tristan's skin to come alive with tiny bumps that raced alone her olive tone skin.
To think such beauty can still exist in this world. She thought to herself. A peace filled calm relaxed her usual rigid features, for she was only this relax when she was away from all the responsibilities that heaped onto her small shoulders with each passing day. Her thoughts took a turn, wondering about her friend Rook and where she was today. They've been out of contact for well over three weeks and she just now began to question if everything was okay. Their last assignment separated them, but they tried usually to communicate every now and again.
The crackle of the fire drew her attention to present time as she stood gently hoping not to disturb the sleeping Dratini at her side. She gazed fondly at the small being and walked with care towards the fire. The heat seemed unpleasant even though the night was cool, kneeling down she took the skewer that held her portion of the nights meal and turned it slowly on its side. A pair of eyes peered from within the dense trees ahead of her, and a small creature stalked forward with purpose. Holding her hand out, the creature came closer and sat down, its earthy eyes seemed to glint within the light. "Jolteon." she whispered in acknowledgment of her favored partner and she came forward placing her head on top of the offered hand.
The night dragged on, until finally each member of the party lay asleep, the tent ignored for the cool comfort of the outside air. Dawn arrived with the echoing of pidgy's cry bouncing off the trees.
Sitting up Tristan ran her fingers through a short crop of red hair and felt alert as she looked at her still sleeping companions.
Breaking camp took less than it usually did. With all her supplies safely in her bag she took out a pokeball and called Dratini back inside. With a lamented sigh he complied without attempting to fight the bonds of his ball. Placing the now shrunken ball on her belt she whistled for Jolteon and walked forward without waiting to see if she complied. The day grew hotter as Tristan came to town that was her destination. Her funds were growing low as was her potions. Glancing down she saw Jolteon trotting next to her and wandering every so often to sniff and the curious smells that lit the air from the up coming village.
Finally they left the Ilex forest and came to the edge of Azalea. She noted the slow traffic of humans and a few wild slow poke, those she ignored for they held no interest to her, and went in search of a run down tavern. The calls of those around her seem to press closer and closer to her. Farm markets lined the streets as venders yelled their wares to passing tourists. She finally found what she was looking for, on the sign read "Speerow's Nest" as a cut out of the animal in flight rested above the small building. Swinging open the door she walked into a smoked filled room as half drunk men sang a sea shanty that would have shamed their mothers into silence. Near the back a bunch of local laborers lined the tables as a deck of cards stood between them. Her luck seemed to grow as they were about to start a new game. Smiling she walked towards them Jolteon not far behind, she sat down with a dreamy look and finally spoke, "May I join gentlemen? I've recently just got here, and finding my bout of luck a bit sour. I'm hoping that this might change it." One look at her and the men smiled slightly, they viewed her as an easy mark, though worried that she wouldn't be able to pay the full tab if she lost considering she only had a few items on her person.
A short hour later, a group of tourists noted a laughing red head running down the streets, a jolteon right at her heels and a group of angry men chasing her yelling theif.
