Name: Tomonari Joshua Kahal
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Money: 1000
Bag:
Appearance: Tomonari only stands at a height of 5'8" tall, and weighs about 149 lbs. He is really a thin teenager, but has some mass to him, but not really fat. His skin is tan in color, and his eyes are green. His hair is brown, and because of his eye and hair color, looks more like his mother than his father. Tomonari's hair reaches down to the top of his ears and eyebrows, and a thick strand of hair on each side of his head reaches down towards his neck. The hair strands at first seem like sideburns, but once he moves, it becomes obvious. His hair is also in thick ponytail that is aimed downwards, and is about the length of his neck. It is held together by a black band. Because of the shape of his face, Tomonari looks somewhat older than fifteen. His legs though are strong, so he is a good runner.
His first set of attire might not seem fit for Cianwood, but he can manage. It consits of a long sleeved, light blue shirt, a green pair of jeans, and a short sleeved, dark blue trench coat over all of that. However, the coat is open in the front to see the shirt and jeans. The collar on the coat is folded downwards, to avoid that emo kind of look. A brown belt with a gray buckle holds up his jeans. His second set of attire is a short sleeved shirt with thick, horizontal lines going across it. The lines are an odd combinations of purple and orange. Tomonari wears a pair of blue cargo shorts that reach down between his knees and ankles. His third set of clothing consits of a gray t-shirt with an artist's depiction of the legendary pokemon Lugia. A pair of black cargo shorts is worn with this set.
A few items of clothing are worn in any set of attire he wears. First off, Tomonari wears a black beanie cap on his head. A pair of black headphones with one white star shape on each speaker rests around his neck. The wire connecting it to the music player in his pocket goes underneath his shirt. On his hands, Tomonari wears gray, fingerless leather gloves. He wears a pair of white shoes that are tightened up with a zipper instead of having to tie them. On each shoe are two, horizontal black stripes. The bottom part of each shoe is black. On Tomonari's left wrist is a bracelet with brown and gold beads, made with a nylon string. It's one of Tomonari's greatest treasures. He has a single strap bag that hangs around his neck, and rests at his left side. It is a brown leather bag that has a cover that lifts up, though Tomonari never buckles it together, and contains various pockets for things. The bag rests on his left side.
Personality: While out in the vast world on his own, Tomonari is rather timid. He usually will wait for someone to talk to him first, and he tends to screw up his words when talking to someone. He can be rather jumpy too if someone pops out of nowhere. Tomonari worries that he might say something wrong by accident and make someone mad, and he usually cowers a bit when a person or a pokemon gets angry. He's even hidden behind someone before out of fear of something. With just about everyone, Tomonari has a habit of apologizing often. As much as he wants to help both humans and pokemon, he fears that he'll either mess up or say the wrong thing. His openly timid nature does make him rather naive about a few things too.
There are about to things that turn Tomonari's timid side into a storm of spazzing out. First and foremost, he has a fear of tentacles, and the pokemon Octillery with that. It's not a whole tentacle rape deal that caused it though. If he sees a tentacled thing near him, even if it's dead, Tomonari becomes jumpy to no end, hiding behind someone or something and yelling things worriedly like 'KILL IT!'. The other thing that makes him spaz out are dirty kitchens. It's not to the point where if he sees a spot he'll freak, but if a kitchen is in not that good a shape, Tomonari will kick out whoever's in there, and start cleaning it frantically. He's also been known to throw things at people while in this state. (See history for backstories behind these.)
However, if he is around people he's know for a bit, and comfortable with, Tomonari starts acting calmer around him or her. He becomes more open to a person slowly, and tends to start smiling occasionally. The inner, calm side of his personality allows Tomonari to begin a conversation with someone first if he knows him or her. But that doesn't mean his timid side still won't kick in, and his calm side only applies to people that show him some compassion of some sort. Once his calm side applies to a pokemon he has obtained, Tomonari will become a bit more confident with them in a battle. The more Tomonari opens up to someone, the calmer he gets around that person is a good rule of thumb with this kid.
However, depending on who he opens up too, it may change his personality in some way. One great example is when Tomonari is around his brother Laus and/or his father's Primeape. For some reason or another, which he has forgotten how it started, Tomonari always seems to want to cause a bit of mischief while at home with these two, though these are the times when he is the most active. No matter how difficult or easy a prank might be, this teenager and his 'partners in crime', so to speak, tend to hatch a plot to attempt to prank Dane, Tomonari and Laus's father. Oddly enough, despite how often nowadays the attempts fail, they always seem to be persistent with it. But while he is like this, Tomonari isn't extremely hyper or anything.
There is one person though that Tomonari has only talked to his brother about. His old friend since childhood, Misha. Tomonari has a crush on her, to the point where it could end up being a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. She was his only true friend, and after Misha moved to Goldenrod, Tomonari missed her greatly. His timid side actually pops out more when around her, with his words essentially falling all over the place. In his mind, Tomonari has a goal of seeing her again, and hopefully tell her his true feelings about her. He keeps a bracelet that she gave him before Misha moved, and the bracelet is one of Tomonari's greatest possesions.
Aside from pokemon, there are three things that Tomonari has a huge fascination with. One of them is cooking. He actually wants to become a great chef, and has experimented with different recipes and such. Though he usually fails on his first try at a recipe, he is otherwise a good cook already. But this also has kind of a big flaw, and that is the whole deal with dirty kitchens (see above paragraph on spazzing). Second, he likes to draw things when he gets the chance. He can be persistent, and at rare moments, stubborn, when drawing an object, pokemon, or whatever. Finally, Tomonari's other fascination is the legendary pokemon Lugia. Hearing the stories that the people of Cianwood tell about this pokemon intrigued him into wanting to know more. Right now though, it's not like he'll go on a big hunt for a Lugia, since he's not that crazy.

Pokemon:
Mareep - Iris
Level:
5
Move List:
Tackle
Growl
Body Slam
Charge
Pokemon Personality:
Iris, is in all honesty an extremely vain Pokémon. She takes great pride in her beautifully fluffy coat and the shine off of her tail orb. Generally, she will close her eyes and lift her head slightly to allow the light to reflect off her tail and make her coat glow in the light. This gives her a very distinct and beautiful look that nearly anyone can appreciate.
When in battle, Iris will allow herself to become dirtied if she is able to amply clean herself after battle. This is usually a delicate process of picking out small twigs or other obstructions while she carefully ruffles her fur out to an even poof.
She loves attention naturally, and will often pose for Tomo if he is trying to draw. She can be a bit offended if Tomo is more interested in other things then her.
Hoothoot - Dante
Level:
3
Move List:
Tackle
Growl
Pokemon Personality:
Dante comes off as a carefree pokemon, with nothing bothering him that much. At times, he acts like a smartass, which can really irk others. Because of his attitude, he has somewhat of an uncaring look on his face. Dante becomes bored rather easily, and finds some way to entertain himself. He treats a battle unseriously, and thinks of it more as a plaything of sorts. As an example, Dante will stand there and wait for a opponet's attack to get close, then be a jerk and get out of the way with a chuckle, the tricky little bugger. However he is a bright pokemon, with a whole buttload of strategy in his brain, despite his attitude.
He really isn't too fond of Tomonari's timidness, but not in the way that it annoys him. More like Dante keeps trying to get his trainer to relax a bit and toughen up a bit. But he will defend Tomonari in hard situations, and speaking of which, Dante is not fun when he's ticked off. Once he becomes ticked off, Dante becomes more serious in a fight, and part of his uncaring attitude
goes away.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History: Tomonari was born and raised in Cianwood, and not once has he left the island. His father was Dane Kahal, the current gym leader of Cianwood. The boy's mother was Hikari Takahashi, and of course, Dane's wife. He was born three years after their first child, and Tomonari's older brother, Laus, so until he got older, the two wouldn't really be talking with each other. There isn't much to say when Tomonari was a baby, except that he loved to eat! Whenever he was brought into the kitchen, he always expected to be fed. But he was still a baby after all, so it wasn't like he knew all that much. Tomonari was looked after by one of his parents at any time, so he never was separated from them much.
When Tomonari was three years old, he began to explore a bit since he could walk now. Though never too far away, of course. While he stayed with his father inside of the gym on some days, Tomonari and his brother Laus would start climbing on top of their father's Hariyama. The pokemon got used to this, and took a liking to the kids, despite his dislike of movement. The only other pokemon of Dane's that Tomonari went near was Primeape. Being an active pokemon, playing with him would wear the three year old down, and in response, Tomonari's body would make him take a nap easier. It wasn't too often though that Tomonari was left by his father temporarily in the care of either Hariyama or Primeape, as despite the controlled area of the gym, it was still dangerous. Nothing happened luckily, leaving Tomonari and his older brother safe from any harm.
As he grew older, Tomonari started going outside for longer periods of time. He went with his mother to do certain errands, and especially enjoyed shopping for food with his mother. The boy started to acquire an interest in cooking, and also enjoyed watching his mother cook. Tomonari however, wasn't able to help out much, since he was so young at the age of six. When it came to schooling, well, Tomonari and Laus were homeschooled, so neither of them really could make friends easily. But that didn't mean there weren't other ways to meet people.
The father of a girl named Misha Miyazaki was an instructor in the gym, and slowly, Tomonari got to know the girl. As nice as she was, Misha was more a tomboy, and liked to rough housed with her friend, despite Tomonari's timidness. Actually, she did kind of give him a few scratches here and there, but was gladly able to help fix up his cuts and bruises. Unlike Misha, Tomonari was more of a crybaby as a young boy. Luckily, the two managed to become friends, which was a great thing in their parents' eyes. She was actually the only person that Tomonari truely befriended, and never let that friendship vanish.
When he was ten years old, Tomonari tended to go out into Cianwood with Laus, and roam around. These times were when the boy began hearing stories about the legendary pokemon Lugia. This caught the interests of both brothers actually, as well as sparking Tomonari's interest in pokemon training. That didn't go too far though, as he never thought much on it. A small thing happened on one of these little trips though. A trainer's Octillery was resting a bench rather uneasily, and Tomonari just so happened to be walking by with his brother. As they did so, the Octillery accidentally fell from the bench, and one of the tentacles covered Tomonari's face. He mistakenly thought that it attacked him with the tentacle, and began to freak out. The Octillery, since it was worried about him, tried to calm him down with a gentle stroke on the back, but upon noticing even more tentacles, Tomonari started to freak out even more. His brother quickly took him home before it got worse. This event created his fear of tentacles, no matter how little of an accident it was.
A year after that event, another event caused Tomonari's spazzing over a dirty kitchen. When he was eleven, he was able to start learning how to cook slowly, but nothing dealing with the stove yet, by his mother. While carefully cutting up some food for dinner, Laus had accidentally knocked over the trash can, and didn't notice what happened. Tomonari stopped what he was doing, and saw the mess on the floor. He knew that kitchens had to be sanitary, but seeing as he was young and timid, freaked out over it. He thought that the kitchen was now completely dirty, and stopped what he was doing and frantically started cleaning the trash up. Tomonari's mother tried to calm him down, and Laus finally realized what he did, though just stood there watching. Tomonari still insisted that everything had to be clean, and his mother actually gave up on this one. She didn't know how to calm him down with this little event.
Though it started to slowly happen, Tomonari's brother started to act different the next year. Laus was fifteen years old at this time, as he was three years older than Tomonari. He began to go out more often, and without Tomonari. Confused as to why his older brother acted like this, he was starting to want to ask his parents about Laus's behavior. He was still afraid to ask though, as Tomonari didn't want to make Laus mad at him. A year of the same thing went by, and one day, Tomonari heard his parents yelling at Laus. He listened in on what was happening, and it came as a shock to Tomonari. Apparently, Laus was getting into street fights with others because some people were talking crap about his family, one of the biggest ones being Tomonari and his timidness. Tomonari knew this was true, as Laus had stormed out of the family room, and rushed right past Tomonari. The thirteen year old saw the bruises Laus had gotten from a fight just before he got home that day. This made Tomonari worried about his brother's safety. He had looked up to his big brother, as the two tended to get along with the other rather well.
While he was thirteen years old, Tomonari had started to hang out with Misha a bit more often than usual. The two were seen together almost every other day, and as they were in that age group, those 'changes' occurred. For one, Misha has grown out of her tomboyish ways more the most part, but wasn't exactly the typical 'I'm a weak defenseless girl, save me!' kind of girl. It just would never happen with her. Tomonari also became a bit more timid around her, and blushed sometimes. Misha actually started to do the same. They were becoming more open to each, and even told the other some things they wouldn't tell others. Their relationship too became things like simple hugging. Once though before they departed, Misha gave Tomonari a quick kiss on the cheek, then ran off home. Obviously, Tomonari's face was extremely red after this.
It wasn't exactly a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship yet, but the two became closer during the next year. However, bad news reached Tomonari's ears. Misha was moving to Goldenrod City. He was scared about this, and she even begged her parents to not move, but to no avail. So the night before the move, both Misha and Tomonari each worked on something for the other. The next day, Misha and her parents were invited over to Tomonari's house by his parents for a little farewell gathering. Tomonari and Misha ended up sneaking upstairs to his room, where they talked things over for a bit. They also exchanged the small gifts they made for each other. Tomonari gave Misha a drawing he did of her, and Misha gave him a bracelet with gold and brown beads. For the rest of the time before she left, Misha was leaned about against Tomonari, and they were sitting on his bed. Occasionally they would say something, but that was all. Right before Misha left, she gave Tomonari a second kiss on his cheek, and rushed off. She never did tell him where in Goldenrod she would move to, and Tomonari never took the chance to ask.
Tomonari was upset for half a year, and didn't really talk to anyone. During his time alone, he began to think things over. He thought about becoming a pokemon trainer, and his thoughts ended up becoming about Misha. That was how he would see her again! He would become a pokemon trainer, and while he stopped in Goldenrod, would go look for her. First though, he needed to tell his parents that he wanted to become a trainer. For the next six months, he started working up the courage to ask them, and at one moment he did at dinnertime one day after he turned fifteen. Slightly surprised, his parents gave the okay for it, and Tomonari was relieved. However, before he left for his journey, Tomonari told Laus about his thing for Misha. His older brother didn't say anything at first, and kept Tomonari's thoughts about Misha a secret.
Laus was sent with their mother's Drowzee for protection, to escort Tomonari to New Bark Town. He was eighteen now, and with a driver's license, so this would make things easier. First, Tomonari and Laus took the boat to Olivine City, and from there, rented a car to make the trip faster and easier. However, there was a small pause once they reached Goldenrod. Laus asked his younger brother if he wanted to make a stop and see Misha, but before Tomonari could say yes, he remembered that he didn't know her address. Also, the teenager was a bit nervous about not seeing her for a little over a year, and told his brother that he'd do it later. Laus hesitated with his brother's answer, but simply nodded and kept going towards New Bark Town. Tomonari would be dropped off by the lab, and from there, would be on his own.
