Name: Elayne Eiyle (Pronounced Isle)
Age: 39
Gender: Female
Hometown: Sootopolis City, currently recides in Goldenrod
Money: N/A
Bag: N/A
Appearance: Elayne stands at 5'8" and usually wears a dark green jacket, with an emerald pendant around her neck, a gift from her oldest daughter. She has light brown hair that goes down to down to the end of her neck. Her eyes are a deep blue and she wears a small amount of make up to 'bring them out'. She wears two custom made earrings. One of them resembles the badge of her current gym, and one resembles the badge of her current gym.
On her right arm she wears a pendant with the letters S, G, D written in script, this was a birthday present from her husband with her daughters' initials on it. Her shirt is white with an image of a Clefairy on it. She wears black pants with the pockets outlined in a design of a spiral. She wears a pair of comfortable running shoes to get around the gym easily. She has completely upright posture, and it's very rare that she ever slouches.
While not directly a part of her appearence, Elayne's youngest daughter Samantha (who calls herself Saphire (how the 9 year old spells it) to be like her older sister) usually clings to her mother's arm to watch gym matches.
Personality: Elayne is very protective of her daughters and her pokemon. She did not want her older daughter to go off on her own, and often worries about her. She is extremely protective of her youngest daughter Samantha, and brings her to the Gym with her every day, letting her play with her Vaporeon. She is an easy enough person to get along with, and will usually go along with what someone says to avoid getting into an arguement. Not because she thinks they're right or wants to avoid the arguement, she just thinks arguing is a waste of time.
Despite only having taken over the Goldenrod City gym recently, she is an experienced trainer and Gym leader, having been the leader of the 8th gym in the Hoenn region for several months before leaving with her husband. She enjoys teaching young trainers and will often take on anyone that wants to learn from her. She is usually blunt when it comes to someone's faults, and isn't afraid to point it out to someone. She uses gym matches as an excuse to teach trainers, and will point out what a trainer is doing wrong mid-match.
In a battle she often tries to find, exploit, and point out her opponent's weaknesses. She dislikes anyone that thinks that violence is the only answer to a problem. However, she has a quick temper when someone insults her, her husband, her daughters, or her pokemon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pokemon:
Eevee
Shiny
Female
Level: 22
Move List: Quick Attack, Tackle, Dig (tm), Attract (tm), Tail Whip.
Pokemon Personality: Eevee is very agressive when in a battle. She doesn't like to just hold back and sit still and will usually charge into a battle right away. She listens to Deena's every word, and is one of her most prized pokemon due to it being the only shiny pokemon she's ever come across. she hates to lose, and will hold a grudge for a long time. For this reason, she dislikes Elayne's daughter's Magnemite, and just about any other pokemon it's lost to, gym battle or otherwise. It is always ready to train.
Outside of battle she is surprisingly calm, even appearing lazy. When not in a battle she is usually curled up on its pillow near her Elayne's bed, or on her pillow in the gym. Unlike Elayne's other Eevee, she doesn't like playing. If she's not battling, training, or sleeping, she's most likely eating. It does enjoy attention, but does little outside of battle to try and get it.
Pokemon:
Eevee
Female
Level: 19
Known Moves: Tackle, Sand Attack, Shadow Ball (tm), Iron Tail (tm), Attract (tm).
Pokemon Personality: Eevee is very playful, unlike her shiny counterpart. She will often run around the gym, playing tag with Samantha. She also likes to show off a bit, making Elayne treat her a bit more like a contest pokemon. However, she's never actually entered a contest. She is somewhat easily distracted, and likes gnawing on shiny things.
In battle her speed is its best attribute, which Elayne uses often. Her favourite attack is Shadow Ball because she can show off a lot with it. It doesn't like battle, but really enjoys it when she wins. She doesn't mind losing.
Pokemon:
Clefairy
Female
Level: 23
Known Moves: Doubleslap, Wake-up Slap, Minimize, Sing, Dream Eater (tm).
Pokemon Personality: Clefairy is very shy. She rarely comes out for trainers she doesn't know, and only confronts them when in a battle. She is very astute, and can tell when someone means something other than what they're saying. She will occassionally make the hand motions for Metrenome, even though she can't use the move yet. She is easily frightened, and will run off at a slight noise.
In battle, she's still a bit timid, but will attack whenever it needs to. She often spends most of her time dodging her opponents attacks, something that she does easily with her light body. This is amplified by her 'Minimize' attack. She can tell when someone's insulted her, and gets very angry when someone does so.
Pokemon:
Tauros
Male
Level: 17
Known Moves: Tackle, Rage, Horn Attack, Pursuit
Pokemon Personality: Tauros is rather slow to rouse, and he is often found sleeping in the gym or in his pokeball because, unlike Elayne's other normal type pokemon, he's to large to fit in their home. However, when awake he's very agressive and will attack most anything in its path. Elayne is reluctant to train him because he is so aggressive, but will use him in gym battles because he does listen to her. He seems closer to Elayne's daughter Gina than to Elayne, and he will allow Gina to ride him. Sometimes he'll calm down, mostly after eating.
In battle he's just as aggressive as he is outside of battle, rage being its favourite attack. The strong pokemon is likely to attack head on, and he is Elayne's consistant starting pokemon. He is, surprisingly, afraid of bug pokemon, in and outside, of battle.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History: Elayne's father was a teacher at the local public school, and her mother ran the local pokemart. Elayne was quickly pegged as a 'pokemon prodigy', even from a young age getting along well with her father's Zigzagoon Ziggy and her mother's Pikachu Chewy. As she got older, she quickly learned to identify pokemon, and spent her time hanging around the gym, to watch the powerful pokemon battle the last gym leader. She was fascinated, seeing all the extremely powerful pokemon battle each other.
As she watched, she decided that she would become the gym leader there one day. She spent all her free time watching the gym leader battle. The closest match she'd ever seen him in was his Tentacool versus a Dragonite. He was powerful, but as a gym leader he did lose occassionally. She especially liked the days that he lost, because it gave her an insight on a strategy on how to beat him.
He eventually noticed the small girl that spent so much time in his gym, and began teaching her about pokemon. The first thing she said to him was 'One day, I'm going to beat you and take your gym.' The man just laughed and told her that he looked forward to it. He started with letting her observe his practice sessions. She was determined to defeat him, and studied everything that he did. She also watched the ones he battled, knowing it would be her job one day too.
When she was twelve, her mother brought her an old rod and a net ball for her birthday. She was ecstatic and the family went to the beach for her to catch her first pokemon on an outing. She sat on the pier with her fishing pole for hours, stopping only to eat and go to the bathroom. It was all day before she caught her first pokemon. It was only a magicarp, but it was still her first pokemon.
She spent every day at the gym, training with the gym leader to raise her magicarp until he was strong enough to battle with. She also practiced at home, having her dad battle her with Ziggy. When she was 12, her father decided to travel with her. He used his vacation time with the school and took her to Rustburough. She knew she couldn't just beat her with her magicarp because he only knew a couple of moves.
So, she took her old rod and attempted to catch another pokemon on the docks at home. This time, she caught a Tentacool. She worked harder with it than before, and eventually it learned Bubblebeam. Excited, she and her father finally took their trip to the rock gym. Her powerful Tentacool easily defeated the gym's leader.
Excited with her first professional gym win, she and her father went home, and she eagerly showed her first badge to anyone and everyone that would look. Her mother, school mates, the gym leader, everyone. So excited with the gym badge, she saved up all her money to buy a better rod, and trained harder than before. With her first win, the gym leader took her under his wing, letting her train in his gym.
She worked hard, training her Tentacool into a Tentacruel and her Magicarp into a powerful Gyrados. With her good rod she caught a Barbaroach, and later a Chinchou. She trained them up, and at fifteen her father let her travel on her own. Since she only wanted to raise water pokemon, her mother used several connections she had from the store and got her a Kabuto. Since the team was almost complete, she started training harder to battle in the gyms where she had a disadvantage. She got a lift, and went to the second gym.
She traveled for months, training herself and her pokemon, gathering badges until she was almost ready to battle her old tutor. Her final team was of Gyrados, Kabutops, Whiscash, Lanturn, Tentacruel, and Peliper. She was very excited when she returned to Sootopolis, but didn't go to the gym right away. She stayed home with her parents, catching up after almost a year away from home. After so much time, her dream, her final goal, was in sight.
She entered the gym, fully prepared to challenge him right there. He was glad to see her, glad that she was back after so many years. They started their battle, a 3 on 3. Her Tentacruel battled his, hers managing to win after a long battle. However, he lost to his Luvdisk. She was disappointed, but knew the battle was just starting.
She traded out for Kabutops, the rare pokemon catching him offguard. She used the pokemon's powerful Cut and X-Scissor to finish off the Luvdisk. She knew how he would end their battle, and returned Kabutops. He'd always told her when she was younger that when she battled him, he'd use the first pokemon he saw her battle with. His sealeo, now a powerful Walrein.
She'd always told him that she'd beat him with the first pokemon she ever caught. Gyarados. The battle was longer than their first, her finally managing to win with a Hyper Beam. The leader congratulated her, and handed over her eighth badge. Then he asked her a question. "Do you want to challenge the Elite Four, or take over my gym now?"
She was stunned. She'd been expecting him to want her to wait before she became the leader. Thrilled she immediatly accepted, agreeing only if he agreed to stay on in the gym with her. He agreed. The next day, she took on her first challenger as the new gym leader.
She was gym leader for ten months. She enjoyed it for the first few, but eventually she got bored. No one really came to the eighth gym, and those that did were usually put down by just one of her pokemon. Tired of not being challenged by anyone, she started wandering Sootopolis, which is how she met Thomas. He was a pokemon researcher that had come to the area, and asked if he could study her pokemon.
She agreed, and he watched her powerful pokemon in amazement, studying how they acted in and out of battle. Elayne slowly fell in love with the researcher, and when he was ready to leave, she gave the gym back to her mentor, and went with him. The pair traveled all around the world, and she started catching more kinds of pokemon to aid him in his research. The first she caught with him was an Eevee, which she later evolved to a Vaporeon.
Eventually, they were married, and continued traveling a little. On their way to Johto, their favourite country, to settle for their children, she caught a Clefairy. In Johto she spent most of her time raising her daughter Deena. Deena was a lot like her father, and it made her laugh sometimes the similarities. She made sure that her pokemon were nice to her, and Gyarados and Peliper were especially nice to her.
Her second daughter was born a few years later. Her husband stopped traveling as much, and Deena started getting old enough to show some of her mother's old habits. She started going to the gym to watch and observe trainers and their pokemon. She even caught her trying to go down the daycare once or twice. It made her laugh and terrified her at the same time.
After several years and the birth of their last child, she finally gave into Deena, and brought her up to catch a Magnemite, the pokemon she wanted. She brought Vaporeon and its daughter, an Eevee she believed she'd had with the neighbor's Glaceon. She used them to protect each other on the way up to the route. On the way she caught a Tauros to avoid it tearing straight through Deena as she stood to catch the Magnemite. When they returned, she allowed Deena to use Magnemite to help her, but mostly used Eevee and Vaporeon.
The next year the family went on vacation to Hoenn and she saw the first and only Shiny pokemon she'd ever seen in her life. It was rarer than most legendary pokemon, so she used her Tentacruel to catch her. Over the years, Deena left on her adventure with pokemon, and Elayne started tightening her grip on her other daughters. However, with the oldest gone and the younger two getting older, she started getting... bored.
She learned that the local normal gym was looking for a new leader, and decided to put her name in for canidacy. Seeing her resume as a former gym leader in Hoenn and with her already having the pokemon necessary, she was almost immediatly accepted. She renovated the gym, and began taking her daughters over. Being considered the Third gym, she got many more people than her previous position, and with her daughters to look after she isn't bored anymore.
The only major removal from the gym were the barriars so Tauros would have more room to run around, and she added a pool for her water pokemon. It is deep enough for the group of them. She rarely uses them anymore, and mostly they stay around because she's so attached to them. She uses her normal type pokemon to train them, and avoids using the others in battle if at all possible.
