An exaggerated sigh seeped through her slightly chapped lips as the girl began packing up camp. There really wasn't all that much to pack up; a blanket, along with a pair of navy blue sweatpants she had just changed out of moments ago. She didn't haul around a tent, or even a sleeping bag for that matter. They were to big for the petite girl to carrying around through the many regions; in fact she lacked something as simple as a pillow. She slept curled up under a blanket, which she was currently attempting to shove to the bottom of her tattered backpack, and cuddled up against her Growlithe, Jun, if it was cold out.
"Okay Jun, I think we're just about ready to go." Molly announced then and slowly zipped up her bag before turning her head slightly to glance at the Pokemon. The fire type was laying in the dirt, his head propped on his paws as he watched his trainer carefully. At every sound his ears cocked in that direction, but so far nothing had seemed important enough to actually glance at.
Blinking his blue eyes several times in a row, the creature exhaled heavily through his nostrils, and his tail twitched once.
"Oh, don't you seem excited," she mused, a grin forming across her face. "You'll be more energized once we get running," she added in then before pushing herself up off the ground and onto her feet. With a quiet groan the girl stretched her arms above her head, and after hearing a satisfying pop, bent down slightly to snag her backpack. At this bit of motion Jun got up himself, and stretched out his body, much like that of a cat would, before stepping over to the fire pit he and Molly had dug out the previous night. The Pokemon assess the ashes of the fire that had burned out at some point during the night.
Slowly he dipped his muzzle and nudged a piece of charred wood, followed by pulling back to look up at Molly expectantly.
Every morning, around six o'clock he and the girl would start the day with a run; something the Growlithe looked forward to each day, and often would wake Molly if she managed to sleep into around seven, which wasn't often. A soft grumbled escaped between his powerful jaws, an encouragement for them to get a move on.
"Alright, alright, patience is a virtue." She told him with a small shake of her head, all the while shifting her arms through the straps of the knapsack. Once it was securely on she nodded in a particular direction, which was then the way Jun started to pad. His steps were graceful as he gently treaded against the earth, while Molly on the other hand, was not. Their jog had just begun, and so she'd yet to stumbled, but surely she'd trip over an overgrown tree root, or a too big stone; hell, she didn't even need any of that to tumbled to the ground. The girl was extremely uncoordinated when it came to balance, and it showed.
Scrapes and bruises adored her body, though mainly on her knees from her many stumbles. But these were only minor set backs; it was going to take hell of a lot more than a scratch to stop her; a sprained ankle could only keep her in one place for so long.
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
And repeat.
She kept her breathing as even as possible as she moved quickly from behind Jun. A smile easily fell across her face as she watched his fluffy tail bob up and down with each step. It was a bit amusing, for a moment or two at least. But eventually she lost interest and began glancing around for something relatively interesting; which was when her foot slipped on some unstable pebbles. A gasp escaped between her lips as she lurch towards the ground, and "grah-pfft-ah" groan could be heard as hit the dirt with a hard thud. Wincing a bit she shifted so that she was sitting on her butt, and began looking over her injuries just as Jun wandered over. A quiet whimper fell from his muzzle, and he too began assessing her injuries before taking a seat on his haunches beside her.
Molly couldn't help but smile, despite the stinging sensation on her knees and the palms of her hands, and reached over to pet the top of Jun's head. "It's okay boy, it's nothing new." She assured him before turning her attention to her knees; a slight burning feeling building where the scrapes were. Her smile dropped as she watched a bit of blood trickle from the small wound; it wasn't that bad, really. She just needed to clean it up a bit, and then she and Jun could be on their way once more, but perhaps they wouldn't run this time?
