Name: Cyprus Riverson (Responds to "Cy", "Cyper", and "Rus")
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Money: $700
Bag:
General: Typically has dried fruits and nuts in it in small pouches and dried leaves like eucalyptus in case of sore throat.
- Herbal Balm (for burns and rashes)
-a blanket (instead of a sleeping bag, which was never bought for her; to discourage her)

-a bowl and chopsticks (this should cover just about every basic meal necessity)
-Pokedex
Training Items: Anything more potent than a potion or antidote doesn't normally have a place in her bag. Cyprus keeps things pretty natural and under that rule doesn't stuff her pokemon with pills and steriods and candy.
- Potion
- Antidote
Appearance:
Cyprus is a pretty girl of adverage height and somewhat slender build. She has auburn wavy hair that is normally pulled half up and eyes that are a pale green. She tends to wear clothes that are comfortable but not too loose. She likes her sleeves to billow in the wind as well as whatever is covering her legs so she can feel the wind well when she moves.
Cyprus normally has a waist tie instead of a belt and it hangs over one hip in a colorful accent to her shirt and pants (as typically, she wears pants). Her hair will occasionally hang in her face but she pushes it to the sides as she prefers not to have it in her eyes. She has a somewhat young looking face and eyes even though she's technically an adult. Her young heart seems to make her look and seem 15 or so. She's hoping that will make it easy to blend in with new trainers as she's sure no one else is getting started this late.
Personality:
Cyprus has lived her life in a complex surrounded by a wall, filled with gardens and held together by a strange harmony between man and pokemon. As such, her life is very sheltered and has led her to be naive at times. Her experience with the outside world is limited to the travelers that happen by the complex while going through the forest and the occasional traveling salesman who made it there on purpose. These people were treated with cold politeness as many of them exhibited a sole purpose to "capture" and "claim" Pokemon, which this clan did not believe in.
Cyprus loves being anywhere nature is free to roam, even deserts, because she was taught to find beauty even in the thistles and thorns. She believes in the clan's age old teaching that Nature does not make mistakes or accidents. It keeps everything healthy and moving on it's own. This puts her at odds with trainers she meets because they normally seem to want to find evolution stones or some other item that will "boost" their Pokemon's power. She is very defensive of any of nature's children she believes are being mistreated or forced to do something they shouldn't have to. When she's angry, she has a C-4 Level explosion and will cry or even become physically abusive to the one she deems responsible.
But she's not stupid. She can actually be very conniving when she chooses to be. Her parents knew this was part of nature's design so they never discouraged her cleverness... even when she used it to cause mischief.
Her only downfall in the clan's eyes is her decision not to take on one of the clan's gardens or become a doctor, vet or therapist or something useful. Her adventurous and justice-seeking spirit lead her to want to become a Pokemon Trainer and do battle against the ones who did their Pokemon wrong.
Her spirit may be fiery but her soul is like the wind. The only part of becoming a Trainer that truly had the "clencher" appeal was the chance to see far off exotic places that were not withiin the clan's claustrophobic walls. Not since the days of her Great Grandfather had anyone left the little clan's complex. The world was too frought with evil and danger and discord. But being secluded left her mind to wander...
What was the world like beyond the forest? Just how big was it?
History:
Cyprus Riverson has always lived in the Riverson Clan Complex in the Illex Forest. There was no where else that any member of the Riverson Clan lived. The complex has many sprawling gardens inside it of all different sorts; rock gardens, flower gardens, sand gardens and even an underwater garden (made possible by the same technology water gyms use to breathe underwater). But the most important thing was the open aired houses where pokemon could visit from the gardens to the houses without interuption. The people lived peacefully with the Pokemon in this way. The only true defenses the clan had were the walls around the complex which were compiled of stone, wood and concrete.
Since the wall is the only defense they have, they wanted to make sure that it was difficult to get to and destroy. So they dug a deep trench around the wall; deep and steep. Then different plants with thorns and needles were transplanted into the deep trench (people having to be raised and lowered on pulley systems to get to the bottom) and they thorns naturally ran rampant thorugh the enclosed area. It turned out to be a good place for small Pokemon to hide as well. However, so that it could not be said they were unkind to weary travelers, they did create a guest complex just before the place where the drawbridge dropped on the other side of the trench. It consisted of a bathouse, four guest houses, a medical unit and a dining hall. Nothing fancy... but enough to take care of any weary travelers. These buildings were enclosed, unlike the houses in the main complex.
All the power in the complexes is naturally achieved. Sun, wind and water are used to power any electrical things that were necessary and these were few as fire for cooking and heat was perfectly acceptable, as was a root cellar for keeping things cool and everything else was a luxury.
Cyprus was never told why they needed such protection; only that the world was a cruel and unfortunate place run by humans who's only care was to consume everything and leave nothing for the rest of the world to cherish. Never having the opportunity to doubt this knowledge, Cyprus was taught to hide when she was in the forest and would hear travelers coming. During one of these occasions when she was hiding, she'd had the chance to witness what she would learn to call "Uneven Partnership." The capture of a Pokemon so that it would become a soldier, slave or pet.
When she'd asked her parents about this event, they'd sat her down and explained about how trainers were on the outside. Wide eyed and amazed, she absorbed every word of the evil of Training into her mind, noting how no pokemon in the complex ever had to be captured or contained to become their friend and were welcome to visit should they ever wish and would be treated well if they were ever injured.
For a while, Cyprus had amused herself with setting traps for trainers to stumble through as they attempted to catch pokemon in the forest. But soon this bored her as the forest seemed to have so many traps none of the trainers ever noticed her handy work from the forest's own. During a day when she hadn't set any traps she'd witnessed a brutal poaching of a mother pokemon who was too weak to defend and the brutality was completely unnecessary. It burned into her soul exactly what Trainers were. She began trying to devise a way to stop it.
When she turned 12, she stood up, looked at her parents and said firmly, "I want to start my Pokemon Journey now. I'm going into town tomorrow and I'll get a Pokemon. Together, we're going to stop this." She was punished severely for thinking such ways and was unable to sit properly for a week.
Her parents response from then on was to try to influence her to take up being a vet or a sentry and focus on defending the complex and the pokemon inside it who needed care. No matter the schooling she went through, no matter how severely they punished her, she would not be swayed. She only saw one way to make a difference... and it could not be accomplished here in seclusion.
She'd bought a guide book off a traveling sales man and a trainer's guide to basics from a young trainer who needed directions and began studying in secret, awaiting the day she was able to put her plan into action and challenge what horrible people were doing, even though she was told continuously that one person could not change the world, she reminded them of their own lesson they had taught all the young children.
"Ripples are small, but they touch all corners of the lake. The sun's rays are invisible, but you can still feel them. Trees grow tall and stong against the wind, but they started as tiny vulnerable seeds. And everyone makes a difference, no matter how small they are."
Pokemon:
Vulpix - Cinder
Level:
5
Move List:
Ember
Tail Whip
Howl
Pokemon Personality:
Vulpix is a rather relaxed and self contained Pokémon. She doesn’t enjoy running around and throwing herself at people or Pokémon. By no means is she lazy though, Vulpix would just rather be with Cyprus, calm. She doesn’t enjoy using moves that require her to work to her fullest or thrash around aimlessly. This transfers to life where she would prefer to sit, not run around.
Roleplay Example:
Cyprus darted through the undergrowth as fast as her legs could carry her, straining her ears to listen behind her. She could hear their footpaws treading faster than her two legs could... This was not good... she'd be caught for sure...
She glanced up into the foliage, making sure she was heading the right direction, then sprinted headlong for the barrier of leaves dead ahead. As the sun beat down unobstructed, she half slid half ran down the hill and her eyes moved over the area in front of her. No where to hide... not if she couldn't make it to the river. She wondered faintly if mice were afraid of the water or if she'd be caught anyway.
Too late to think about it now, she told herself as she reached the edge of the river and dove in. She didn't hear any splashes behind her and secretly congratulated herself as she swam back to the surface. When she broke through and gasped for air she turned to the bank to see four downcast faces.
"Don't worry guys! You caught me every other time!" She smiled and winked at the four Rattata siblings on the bank. "I just got lucky!" She swam back to shore and gave them pats behind the ears as they scurried about happily. Climbing out of the river and shaking herself off, she looked toward the complex noticing several of the other kids were looking at her and either pointing and laughing or shaking their heads. She blushed.
"...um... next time... lets play on the other side of the meadow..."
The Rattata chittered as if they were laughing too.
